Cellular Cameras – The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Cellular Cameras The Gift That Keeps On Giving

We have always been trail camera enthusiasts at Aaron Outdoors.  We love to run our trail cameras just as much as we love to hunt!  So, the innovation of the cellular trail camera has been a true “gift” to us, and anyone else like us, that couldn’t wait for that next card pull.  There was nothing better than to go and check your camera after a week or two of soaking in the woods until the cellular camera. Now, we don’t even have to wait!  The lines of cellular trail cameras by GSM Outdoors truly have us spoiled with up-to-the-minute intel.

Everyone knows that cellular cameras can put you onto a mature buck and that’s what is most important, but let’s take a look at why we think you aren’t utilizing your cellular cameras to their full potential if you aren’t running them year-round.  Here are five uses for and why we think cellular cameras are the gift that keeps on giving the whole year.

Monitor what bucks made it one more year. People who put their cellular cameras away after the November rut or after they fill their buck have no way to watch and see which up-and-comer made it through the hunting season.  Leaving the cameras out will allow you to gain that insight and may even allow you to pick up on tendencies from year to year that you would miss otherwise.

Monitor when bucks shed their antlers. We like to watch our cell cameras closely in the late winter so we will know when to start shed hunting.  If you have a particular buck in mind that you would love to find the sheds off of, you can see from day to day or even hour to hour when he drops.  Then, you also have a general idea of where to start your search.

Antler Shed 2Monitor your trap line. Now, we know that not everyone runs a trap line, but if you’re a serious game manager you should.  We try to trap coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, opossums, skunks, and other nest predators to give our fawns and turkey poults a better chance at survival! Post a cell camera over your trap so you can see if you’ve caught anything from the couch.  This allows us to save time and gas money running back and forth to the farm only when necessary.  It also allows you to observe the critter approach to your sets and you can adjust accordingly.

Monitor for turkey season. Cell cameras are great to place over strut zones in the spring when Toms like to get out and strut to attract hens.  Place your cameras over old road beds, ridge flats, food plots, and dusting sites and you can have a pretty good idea of what is using the area and what time they are there.  Turkeys are creatures of habit so they can be easily patterned if left unbothered.

Monitor your property for trespassers. Remotely watch your farm or home and have up-to-the-minute surveillance of your property.  Let’s face it, in today’s world trespassers are all too common.  Put cell cameras on road or gate entrances, houses, garages, barns, or anywhere you feel you need to monitor.  GSM Outdoors cellular cameras are up to the task to help protect your property.
